Our Beliefs

Picture
We believe in the verbal and supernatural inspiration of the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, that it is the full, final and complete revelation of God’s will to man; that it is truth without error and that it is the final authority in all matters of our faith and practice. We believe in the sufficiency of the Scriptures, that the Bible is adequate to guide us into all truth pertaining to life and godliness.

• We believe that God is supreme in His person, eternal in His being, absolute in His attributes, glorious in His perfection, and sovereign in His will. God is the Creator of man and the entire universe and upholds “all things by the Word of His power” (Hebrews 1:3).

• We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father is the fullness of the Godhead invisible; the Son is the fullness of the Godhead manifested; and the Holy Spirit is the fullness of the Godhead in His executive agency. They are co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory.

• We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ and that He is the eternal, sinless, Son of God. We believe in the “impeccability” of Christ. Not only was Jesus Christ sinless and never sinned, He was “impeccable,” that is, incapable of sinning.

• We believe that the clear message of salvation is “repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 20:21); that faith in the Lord Jesus Christ must accompany repentance; that a person must personally repent of their sin of unbelief and believe (place their faith and trust) in the Lord Jesus Christ and receive Him as their personal Lord and Saviour.

• We believe that salvation is the gift of God given by Grace alone, through Faith alone, in Christ alone, as proclaimed in the Scriptures alone, to the glory of God alone. Man cannot be saved by his works or good merits apart from God’s Holy Spirit drawing him and convicting him of his sin. We believe that men are justified by faith alone and are accounted righteous before God only through the merit of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

• We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died as the substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of all mankind; and that all who receive Him by faith are born again, and receive eternal life which is “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27).

• We believe in the eternal security of the believer. That a person, once saved, is kept eternally by God’s power and is thus secure in Christ forever. We believe that eternal life is the present possession of every child of God and that once saved will always be saved.

• We believe in the imminent, pre-tribulation, pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ for His saints.

• We believe in a literal Heaven where the saved will spend eternity, and a literal hell where those who reject Jesus Christ as their Saviour will spend eternity separated from God’s presence.

• We believe the New Testament teaches that a local church is to be autonomous and free from political authority; independent from all external hierarchy; governed by the Bible as the sole rule of faith and practice, and that Christ “is the head of the body, the church” (Colossians 1:18).
